As the summer sun sets and the crisp autumn air begins to sweep in, we’re reflecting on what has been an incredible season for us here at the Museum. This year, we experienced record-breaking numbers of foot traffic, and we couldn’t be more excited to share our gratitude with all of you- our dedicated visitors and fans of Frank Frazetta’s legendary work.
A Summer to Remember
Summer is always a busy time for us, but this year exceeded even our highest expectations. From June to September, art lovers, fantasy fans, and collectors traveled from all over to see the masterpieces of one of the world’s most influential fantasy artists. Whether it was first-time visitors or returning fans who wanted another chance to take in Frazetta’s iconic works, the museum was buzzing with energy throughout the season.
Some highlights of the summer included:
- New Exhibits: Visitors were treated to new works of art that showcased pieces that we've acquired this past year- some of which have never been displayed to the public. We also had some of Ken Kelly's original works on loan, thanks to the kindness of his family members. We believe that it is our duty to not only preserve Frank's legacy, but that of other great artists as well.
- Exclusive Merchandise and Collectibles: Our museum gift shop was busier than ever, with collectors snapping up limited-edition prints, books, and newly-released collectibles. From exclusive Master’s Collection reproductions to exciting collaborations, we saw a wave of enthusiasm for Frazetta’s enduring legacy.
- Personal Tours: Each admission comes with a complimentary tour, should you request it! Sharing stories, insights, and behind-the-scenes details about Frank’s life and work, help create unforgettable experiences for visitors of all ages.
What Led to the Surge in Visitors?
We believe a few key factors contributed to this incredible rise in museum traffic. First, the continued appreciation for fantasy art in popular culture has sparked renewed interest in Frazetta’s body of work. With his influence seen in modern movies, comics, video games, and TV series, fans are flocking to the source to experience the original pieces that shaped the worlds of fantasy and sci-fi.
Second, as restrictions eased and travel resumed post-pandemic, many people were eager to experience art in person again. For many, the Frazetta Art Museum became a must-visit destination for art lovers and fantasy aficionados making up for lost time.
Finally, word of mouth and social media have played a huge role. Visitors have been sharing their experiences online, posting photos, and spreading the word about their unforgettable trips to the museum. We love seeing our community grow, with new fans discovering Frazetta’s work every day!
